Day with doctors program
About The Program
Day with the Docs gives students who are serious about becoming physicians, a chance to see what life is like as a medical student and get an up-close look at LSUHSC School of Medicine in New Orleans. This event is coordinated by second year medical students and is co-sponsored by SELAHEC, the public school systems of participating parishes, in partnership with the LSUHSC School of Medicine. Parishes in the SE region are invited to participate on a rotating basis
Some of the activities students participate in include:
Tour LSUHSC School of Medicine
Interact with medical students and professors
View emergency care skits
Hands-on gross anatomy
Computerized simulations
Lunch and Q&A with Med students, ask them anything!
Learn all about the application process with the admissions department
And MUCH MORE!!
Eligibility
Day with the Docs is open to high school sophomores, juniors or seniors with a 3.0 GPA or higher, who are interested in becoming a doctor. Students who have previously participated in this event are not eligible. Applications are accepted during the month of January.
